Partners

Wilton Go Green is fortunate to share a common interest in sustainable living with several nonprofits in town. We collaborate on individual projects, and our partners give us much needed support for the Festival. Each partner organization donates 20 volunteer hours or items for the Festival. In addition, all our partners help promote the Festival through their mailing lists.

Ambler Farm

With its mission of  celebrating our community’s agrarian roots through active learning programs, sustainable agriculture, responsible land stewardship, and historic preservation, Ambler Farm has been a key partner in the area of food and land. They were most generous with donated time as well as the two large tents that were on the Town Green for the 2010 Festival.

Cannon Grange #152

With its roots in the agricultural history of Connecticut, the Cannon Grange #152 is a natural partner for Wilton Go Green. We are grateful for pro bono meeting space at the historic Grange Hall.

Wilton Clergy Association

We were thrilled to have different faith communities present at the 2010 Festival in a common Wilton Clergy booth. What a great way to unite the faith communities. In addition, clergy leaders preached about sustainability in the weeks leading up to the Festival and loaned us needed items. We look forward to having the Wilton Clergy join us again.

Wilton Conservation Commission

The Conservation Commission works to educate the public on conservation issues, to promote Wilton’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day, and to encourage recycling and “green energy” practices.  We are very pleased to work with the Conservation Commission on Festival planning and other events during the year.

Wilton Energy Commission

The Wilton Energy Commission is the mother organization out of which Wilton Go Green was formed when a group of volunteers working under the WEC created the first Festival. These volunteers decided to continue the mission of promoting sustainability by forming a nonprofit. And so we are proud to partner with the Wilton Energy Commission on programs which address lowering energy usage and promoting alternative uses of energy in our town.

Wilton Family Y

The Wilton Family Y is instrumental in creating children’s programs for the Festival that focus on healthy eating and exercise. We are excited about some of their ideas directed towards getting Wilton families to the festival.

Wilton Garden Club

Wilton Library Association

The Wilton Library has been a huge factor in the success of our programs. The library provides a perfect central location for a portion of our exhibitors and speakers during the Festival. Throughout the year the library hosts other sustainable programs and has been most generous in providing us with promotion for our events as well as providing technical support. We love our library!

Wilton Public Schools

The participation of faculty and students from the Wilton Public Schools was an outstanding piece of the Festival.  The Wilton High School students provided a Bio-fuel car, art displays, and recycling  information and recorded videos of the Festival. Middlebrook students added a recycling exhibit; Cider Mill provided artwork. We look forward to the contributions of students and faculty again this year.

Woodcock Nature Center

Woodcock Nature Center is a fabulous partner and exhibitor for our Festival.  Last year, they kicked off the festival with a 5K Fun Run starting at their beautiful site. They brought several animals to the Festival to promote their mission of teaching our community about the beauty of the natural surroundings in Wilton
